general information

The Salina Youth Symphony Program offers the opportunity for area youth to participate in professionally directed youth orchestras comprised of students dedicated to fine music making. Members are dedicated to rehearsing most Saturday mornings throughout the school year to prepare for two formal concerts at the Stiefel Theatre.

The Youth Symphony Program involves more than 170 students in the following three orchestras:

  • Youth Symphony—advanced full orchestra conducted by Ken Hakoda
  • Junior Youth Symphony—intermediate full orchestra conducted by Henry Littich
  • Preparatory Youth Orchestra—beginning string ensemble conducted by Lindsay Modin

Congratulations to the members of the Preparatory Orchestra, Junior Youth Symphony and Youth Symphony!

There will be a mandatory Parent Meeting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 6 in Sams Chapel (Pioneer Hall) on the campus of Kansas Wesleyan University.
