Earliest musical memory:
I remember riding home with my mom from Kindergarten, singing with the radio, and arguing over which band was playing. Just for the record, I was correct. It was “The Police,” not “The Sticks.”
Best part of being a Salina Symphony musician:
Being a part of the string section and playing great literature.
Most memorable performance with the Salina Symphony:
I have thoroughly enjoyed performing with each of the guest artists, but the performance with Itamar Zorman was the most memorable for me.
Favorite composers:
Mozart
What song best describes you in the morning?
“Sabre Dance,” Aram Khachaturian – OR – “If I Only Had a Brain”, Scarecrow from “The Wizard of Oz” – OR “Lucky Man,” Montgomery Gentry. It all depends on how early I get up and how much sleep I got.
How do you spend your free time?
Hunting, fishing, camping, boating and spending time with my family.
Whom do you admire?
My parents and grandparents.
What is your greatest accomplishment?
I doubt I have “accomplished” anything all that great. However, being a better Christian, husband, father, son, brother, teacher, musician and friend are all works in progress. If I can get a little better and “accomplish” those tasks each day, anything else I might get credit for is just icing on the cake.
