Job Title:

Earliest musical memory:
My earliest memory is sitting on the floor while my mother cooked dinner, listening to a recording of Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf. My favorite was always the duck (played by the oboe), but somehow, I ended up playing the flute!

Best part of being a Salina Symphony musician:
It’s a tie between getting to play good music and getting to know all the other musicians.

Most memorable performance with the Salina Symphony:
So far, it’s the Barber of Seville for Opera on the Lake – but I just started!

Favorite composers:
Can you have just one favorite? I’m always in the mood for a Brahms symphony.

What kind of music do you enjoy listening to?
I listen to a little bit of everything! I pretend it’s to be “well-rounded” as a musician, but I just like new sounds.

How do you spend your free time?
We have the world’s most ridiculous dog – an Airedale named Holly. I like to take her out to the park, or on walks around the neighborhood. Since moving to Kansas, I’ve also started practicing yoga. It’s a lot of fun, and apparently it’s good for you!

What is your greatest accomplishment?
Finishing my doctorate!
