Summer is coming! Have you considered Salina Youth
Symphony Group Lessons?
This
summer, the Salina Youth Symphony will offer violin, viola and cello
group lessons to children ages four through twelve who have never played
a string instrument or who have played for one year in their school's
strings program. The goals of the program are to provide young students the skills
necessary to become successful string players and to benefit from a
lifetime of enjoyment through music. Qualified instructors will teach
two sessions per week with the assistance of high school Youth Symphony
students. Each class has an enrollment of less than ten
students to encourage individual attention and success. Parents of these
young string players are encouraged to be involved, both at home
and at each lesson, to help their children progress and be successful.
Is this
program for your child?
-
Before starting lessons,
children should be able to sing "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and
their ABC's, recognize written
letters A-G and numbers 0-4, and understand the left to right
concept of reading.
-
Cello students must be
at least six years old and large enough to hold the cello.
-
Students must provide
their own rented or purchased instrument for lessons.
